Acoustic Rashba–Edelstein effect

چکیده
We theoretically study the mechanical induction of spin density via Rashba spin--orbit interaction (SOI). The in linear response to lattice distortion dynamics is calculated based on microscopic theory. reveal that there are two mechanisms induction: one acoustic Edelstein effect (AEE) from acceleration and other caused by spin--vorticity coupling (RSVC). find AEE induces a more efficient spin-to-charge conversion comparison with conventional electric effect. induced due RSVC expressed as Berry curvature-like quantity; therefore, it can be attributed spatial symmetry breaking SOI. Our work demonstrates high-efficiency generation systems.

Acoustic Communication: The Precedence Effect
The acoustic modality is of paramount importance for human inter-individual communication. Consequently, the human auditory system is highly differentiated and able to perform sophisticated tasks such as the identification, recognition and segregation of concurrent sound sources in acoustically adverse conditions – e.g., in reverberant or noisy environments. To this end the different stages of ...
متن کاملAcoustic Neurinomas
Acoustic neuromas (AN) are schwann cell-derived tumors that commonly arise from the vestibular portion of the eighth cranial nerve also known as vestibular schwannoma(VS) causes unilateral hearing loss, tinnitus, vertigo and unsteadiness. In many cases, the tumor size may remain unchanged for many years following diagnosis, which is typically made by MRI. In the majority of cases the tumor is s...
متن کاملOrchestrating Acoustic Cues to Linguistic Effect *
A most convincing way to demonstrate that an acoustic property is a cue for the listener would be to find speech events that constitute minimal pairs with respect to that property, but in nature such pairs are most unlikely. The English words rapid and rabid are a minimal pair at the level of the segmental phoneme, and are near minimal at the level of the phonetic feature, but as many as sixtee...
متن کاملMEMS Gyroscopes Based on Acoustic Sagnac Effect †
This paper reports on the design, fabrication and preliminary test results of a novel microelectromechanical systems (MEMS) device—the acoustic gyroscope. The unique operating mechanism is based on the “acoustic version” of the Sagnac effect in fiber-optic gyros. The device measures the phase difference between two sound waves traveling in opposite directions, and correlates the signal to the a...
متن کاملAcoustic suppression of the coffee-ring effect.
We study the influence of acoustic fields on the evaporative self-assembly of solute particles suspended inside sessile droplets of complex fluids. The self-assembly process often results in an undesirable ring-like heterogeneous residue, a phenomenon known as the coffee-ring effect. Here we show that this ring-like self-assembly can be controlled acoustically to form homogeneous disc-like or c...
